What to expect from the weekend?

Pratical running: during the weekend we'll show you how to:

* Find your paces in training: no longer will every run be the same.  Let's learn to recovery run, threshold run, understand our marathon pace and understand what it should feel like.

* How to use hills sensibly and safely in your mix: this is where the stregth comes from.

* On Saturday we'll run with you in an organised and coached Threshold session and on the Sunday we'll have a guided and coached Long Run, which can be anything in duration from 30 mins-3 hours, provided the duration is safe for you and your plan.  Drinks and gels are provided throughout.  We use the wonderful Wellington College estate for safe training sessions and the local dry forest trails for inspirational running.

* You'll leave understanding all the relevant types of running and pace for your own marathon plan. You will understand how to progress these elements and where to place them in your training week.

Workshops sessions: during the weekend we will cover and deliver:

* Education and theory on the real elements of training that will underpin your marathon plan from beginning to end.

* How to progress your training safely: every plan should be built up safely. We'll explain when to include the key elements of training, when to rest and how to taper effectively.

* "The big day": the pressure is on but we show you how to stay calm and plan those final weeks, days and hours. We then guide you through the perfect racing experience to help you achieve your race goals!
We'll also teach you the best race mental approaches to run your best race.

* Nutrition - how to train and fuel your body the right way with Lucozade Sports Science Academy.

* Injury prevention: we explain the simple and very best exercises for getting the body strong enough to run the miles. Our top Physiotherapist and double Olympian Julie Sparrow shows you practically how to do this, with notes to support t his.

* We also stretch you the right way!  Nick Anderson will take you through a safe and simple stretching routine designed to help every runner avoid injury and deal with the niggles.

* Shoes and kit: our adidas team will explain the right shoe choices, allow you to test the shoes and give a short biomechanical assessment to assist in wearing the right shoe for you.  adidas kit and shoes will be on sale for you at special camp only discounted prices.

 * Your questions: this is YOUR weekend.  Please question our Coaches and team and leave with all your worries, concerns and questions answered.  Ask the expert and get the best advice.
